India’s higher education system

India’s higher education system is one of the largest globally, with a vast network of colleges and universities. Significant reforms have been implemented to enhance access, equity, and quality. Recent initiatives include the establishment of new central universities, IITs, IIMs, and NITs, and the launch of the National Mission on Education through ICT. Despite these advancements, challenges such as ensuring quality, improving governance, and addressing faculty shortages remain.
