Election Commission of India

The Election Commission of India (ECI) is an autonomous constitutional authority responsible for administering election processes in India at both the national and state levels. Established by Article 324 of the Indian Constitution, the ECI ensures the conduct of free and fair elections to the Parliament, state legislatures, and the offices of the President and Vice-President. The Commission comprises the Chief Election Commissioner and two Election Commissioners, who are appointed by the President of India. The ECI’s duties include the preparation of electoral rolls, supervision of the nomination process, monitoring of election campaigns, and ensuring compliance with the Model Code of Conduct.
